Just a reminder that, with our usual impeccable timing, Paul and I will be away on holiday, but we will be back for the next one.

ahah! that explains it.

Was a more quiet meeting, still the summer nights (no grease karioke please), but it was dark and clear at end of meeting.

This meeting brought in 2 new members, and had lots of discussion about webcams (toucam high sensitivity to light and ability to be modified for long exposures and DSO, vs , new megapixel CMOS devices 4 times as much data but limited long exposure options, vs, canon dlsr and new IR filter removal and cooling options).

Q1: Is a celestron filter set 60-90 pounds worth buying, or are set of IR, skylight filters more appropriate.

Q2: barlows give more detail to scope, focal reducer less

next meeting two weeks, and it will be darker skies
