Very bright MARS - 17 Sep 2018 2130 hrs

Postby Alderney99 » 17 Sep 2018, 21:38

Driving down into the Bay tonight from the north, Mars showing unusually bright and large
Don't know if its a seeing effect with the warm air coming up on the tail of ex-hurricane
Helene or something.

Seemed so "large" and "low" over Edinburgh / south-southwest despite the very high cloud
patterns that Mrs J was convinced it had to be a drone; even the half-moon is fuzzy yet
object appeared unusually big.
Only Stellarium proved it otherwise.

If anyone out with a scope or good camera, would have a look or go for a very strong pic. :D
