Postby justanotherpete » 26 Aug 2018, 10:16

For those of you not watching the DBA FaceBook page, Astronomy Scotland, their FB page link is here...

(https://www.facebook.com/groups/astrosco/) and then check the Events tab.

...will be running a Stargazing Evening on Saturday September 1st at Powrie Park, Abernethy (nr Perth). Starts at 1900, finishes at 0300 on the 2nd, arrival and scope set-up from 1800. RED LIGHT protocol applies.

As it won't be fully dark till about 2100 there is a telescope raffle and a slide show in the pavilion before-hand, where you can meet up with other astronomy enthusiasts from other parts of Scotland.

It's a great dark sky site and quite accessible for people bringing scopes, the location is here...

If interested could you please also indicate your interest on the Astronomy Scotland FB page. Will post more details as they are confirmed.

As always, "we'll be in the lap of the cloud gods", come with charged batteries, warm clothes, flasks and donuts :)
