For the spouses of skygazers who might feel that looking into the celestial heavens is a waste of time. Here's an interesting site for those more inclined to keep their eyes firmly on the horizon.

Its called Geograph. The aim is to take a picture within every km grid square within the British Isles. Gets you out and about. If you're snap happy you can take the camera out with you and get involved. Otherwise just browse and look what others are creating. You can get an idea of what the geography might be like of in part of Britain or Ireland from the comfort of your own chair.

Such a great educational site too. The Ordnance Survey recently decided to sponsor the project. Praise deserved indeed of the three founding fellas who spend most of their time at Geograph Towers trawling through thousands of photographs and maintaining a site of such a high standard.
