Not often an "astronomical event" is pretty much only visible on our "patch"!
(Its a stellar occultation in Taurus by an asteroid, about 38-deg angle above horizon, eastern sky, binos, 3 minutes duration).
"Observers well placed to see this remarkable and thrilling event can just observe it for fun"
Ephemera like comets, eclipses, meteor showers etc.
