Last night's trial run up to the quarry above Otterston after the May club meeting had TWO good results
1) after sunset, a very bright Mercury between the clouds away across to the North West, with a likely Venus.
Jupiter too low on the (clearing) but light cloud.

2) The Thomson family very kindly allowed us to use part of their big "compound" along from the quarry
to park and observe, with them saying we can use the site in future. Very much appreciated.
The sky-view is huge and virtually unobstructed away to the hills, plus the lights of Dunfermline etc etc
are very low down from that location, unobtrusive and many others conveniently "masked" by the new "bing".
Ephemera like comets, eclipses, meteor showers etc.

The site is very good for observing & it was very kind of the family to let us use it.
