Annual General Meeting
The Kabin, Dalgety Bay, 24th January 2012 at 20:00
The chair, Paul Holmes, welcomed all present and thanked them for attending.
Apologies were received from Brian Wright.
Minutes of last AGM
These were proposed by Brian Henderson and seconded by Iain Johnston. They were adopted.
Paul Holmes reviewed 2010/11 activities of the club which included major event with 70 attendess with Prof Ian Morison at Dunfermline High School, the first BBC Stargazing Live series, lots more membership talks and telescope nights and more observing sessions. There was also another Dalgety Bay Gala event.
Paul thanked all contributions from members for the talks at club meetings and noted a move from 3rd Tuesday to 4th Tuesday each month.
Paul presented Don Makin with a bottle of wine as thanks for the provision of catering at our events.
Paul reported that the clubs acocunts remained strong and healthy with our account showing circa £900 in funds. Subscriptions for 2012 would remain the same i.e. £12.00 for individual membership, £18.00 for family membership and £7.00 for seniors and students.
Election of Office Bearers
All offices were declared vacant and the election of office bearers was commenced. Nominations as follows:

The vote was carried unanimously.
Paul raised option of a Mills Observatory visit (Dundee).
Brian raised visit to Stirling Hotel as a further option.
A question asking the committee to consider Charity status was raised by the audience.
Also a lively discussion occurred with regard to potentially renaming club from Dalgety Bay Astronomy Club to include or emcompass more of Fife and the Dunfermline Area. (No motion was proposed or voted upon.)
The A.G.M. was adjourned at 20:45 Paul Holmes thanked everyone for attending.
The club then started its regular meeting and activities.
