As we are getting extremely close to the dates the BBC are mentioning (8th, 9th Jan), is there any update on what we are planning to actually do? Or who is pencilled in to do what?

I note that Geoff's link to the BBC page now reaches the BBC website but no actual page for us seems to (now) exist.

Thanks
IJ

Hi All
finally have confirmation Ian Morison is deff on and will arrive at the Fairmont on Monday. Weather wise I have no idea if the Gods will smile on us. However, the Prof. will be on hand with an excellent selection of talks. He will bring several scopes and will do his now famous telescope talk which is a real eye opener for beginners and experienced Astronomers. We do not yet know if we will hold the 3rd night, I will make a decision on Monday and cancel as appropriate so just keep in your minds for 2 nights.
The link was changed by the BBC not me here it ishttp://www.bbc.co.uk/thingstodo/activity/stargazing-live-at-the-fairmont/occurrence/215636

any queries contact me

Relived to hear things are a bit more clarified Geoff! :)

Have we any definite names of our people who would be turning up on which evening, and with kit?

Or kit that can be stored securely at the Fairmont monday overnight and used again on Tuesday night,
even if it has to be setup by someone other than its owner?

Do we know if the hotel will be providing an indoor venue (in the clubhouse or a hotel area) for
the Prof to "do his bit" come rain come or ....er...shine?

I will do my best to attend on either of the nights, although Monday is a tighter option as the missus has an appointment after 5pm that day and needs transport.

I'm happy to carry any kit, materials or people on whatever night depending on division of labour.

Hi,me and my dad will be up for both nights with a couple of scopes. If anybody needs a lift up we will have space for a couple of people.

I'll be there, leaving DB around 5pm, so arriving probably at the back of 6.
Give me a ring if you want to car-pool - my number is on this thread (you have to be logged in to see it).

I'll be there, definitely for two, but probably all three nights, depending on Geoffs decision for night three. Not sure whether to bring scope for second night or not perhaps someone can advise? Will be able to fit one person in if someone needs a lift.
Pete
