Photos of the moon
I've recently taken videos of the moon & stacked them to make photos but I cannot fit the whole moon in. Do I need to get a focal reducer or use a smaller telescope?
Re: Photos of the moon
Hi Darren,is it your dobsonian telescope you are using and what camera?

Hi Chris,
It is the dobsonian (Diameter 200mm, Focal Length 1200mm f5.9)
The camera is a ZWO ASI034MC

Re: Photos of the moon
The first thing you should check is the capture area setting for the camera. For the largest possible field of view set the pixel count to the highest available(I think your asi camera is 728x512 pixels) If you still cant get the whole moon in make sure your camera is as close to the focuser as possible (no spacer tubes, barlows or adaptors etc.) A focal reducer should help but I would see what you can achieve with the Asi fish eye lens that might have been supplied with the camera.Hope any of this helps.
