Moonpics from 11032014

(1) Mare Imbrium (Sea of Rains) surrounded by the Lunar Alps, Apennines and Carpathians. Sinus Iridum (Bay of Rainbows) about 11'o'clock, Alpine Valley at about 2'o'clock , and Copernicus (large, bright crater below Mare Imbrium) at about 6'o'clock.

(2) Copernicus (now near top), Mare Nubium with Bullialdus (terraced crater about midway down the pic), Straight Wall also visible on the right side of Mare Nubium. Then below Mare Nubium the craters Tycho and Clavius with it's curve of smaller craters across it's floor.

Very nice Pete! I take it you were using the the BIG scope in the observatory ? very good detail on the craters :D I think I am going to swot up on some names of lunar features!
