A big "Thank You" to OpelStar for organising the Edinburgh observatory visit last night
For me particularly was the Library - I've wanted for years to see what they might have had in there,
knowing that they had some very old astronomy books.
But I'd no idea just HOW old and rare some of the Crawford Collection astronomy and "natural
philosophy" items were - from 12th century manuscripts to 1st Edition prints also hundreds
of years old - even Newton's Principia Mathematica copy number 49!
Famous books I'd read about but never expected to ever actually see - even if we "weren't allowed to touch"!
A Holy Grail for me

What a great night! Thanks to Mat, Russell and the librarian (sorry cant remember her name ) the presentations were really good and the books were amazing! IThe meteorites were really interesting also . Really glad we made the effort
