Clear Skye(s)

Postby Ryohei » 03 Sep 2011, 15:09

Hi

I am going to be on Skye for a few days (Monday 19th-Friday 23rd September), and if I can get away with it I will be packing my Skywatcher 150PL.

Where I will be staying on the island, the nearest "built-up" area - Broadford - is about 8 miles away so light pollution shouldn't be a huge problem. I was just wondering if anyone from the club had done any sky viewing from Skye and, if so, how they got on?

Of course, I'm assuming the perpetual rain/cloud cover we've had for months will have lifted.....

Sadly, the perpetual raincloud hardly lifted at all, except for a few hours when my daughter was getting married.

Better luck next time (visiting Skye I mean, not my daughter's marital status....)
