Re: Mount TLC

Hello Pete. That's what I do for now  Generally I could live with that but if there is a chance to improve.......then why not. It's nothing urgent at the moment and I think it'll be ok when the scope is guided. Need to do something to check how it works when guided and how to do the guiding...

Re: Mount TLC

Something new that I found about the mount. When setting off the backlash on RA I found that it's zero in one position but when mount is turned 180° there is some slag. The diagnose is that the RA worm ring is not well made and the centre hole for bearings is not perfectly cenetered with the worm ca...

Re: M31 Andromeda and NGC7635 Bubble Nebula

Hi John . Its a good shoot. Lol I'm more then happy that you like the result. I've restacked best 27 light frames plus your calibrating frames with DSS but I unticked the background levels calibration. Beging of Astrophography can be a hard thing to deal with and best solution is to keep trying .LOL...

Re: M31 Andromeda and NGC7635 Bubble Nebula

HI all Got some time to work with data of Johns' M31 I've stacked and did some basic process with PS and for the background I've used fitswork4 as it was quite uneven. TBH Despite the fact that there is still a lot to do with the details I like the result. I'm happy to answer any questions Clear ski...

Re: M31 Andromeda and NGC7635 Bubble Nebula

I try to keep the processing as simple as possible. Keep an eye on the histogram (seen after ctrl & L) the graph should be smooth if you push too far it becomes divided by lines. The background levels should be as close as possible R,G,B min value about 30 , in your photo, something bad happened...

Re: M31 Andromeda and NGC7635 Bubble Nebula

Hi John The NGC7635 looks great.... congrat. for the setup. Lots of details but I think the M31 is little over processed and the natural colours sunk under the overexposed data. Try to keep the levels similar. I guess you have a lot blue due to the LP filter to deal with?? Last week I've eventually ...

Mount TLC

I really didn't have any particular reason to strip down my mount but eventually curiosity took the the lead . 20170924_211934.jpg Generally all parts look ok and I was quite suppriced seeing the interior of the mount in a good condition despite the fact that many posts that I've read on the interne...
