thanks all - no images yet as every night been cloudy since..... grrr but 11th sept clear but again GRS badly placed.. Will try on 12th setp as looking clear... and its dark out my garden... so maybe just maybe i get the grs ... fingers crossed thanks for advice solarb - as you sav 5inch vs 8inch no...

Stunning Jupiter

Well just flew back into scotland, dark at last and Jupiter in nice position So dragged my 5inch scope out (8inch would take too long to cool) and added my x5 Teleview barlow and wow!!! stunningly clear views of jupiter, clear bands, 2 moons nearly touching the planet Sadly the GRS (great red spot) ...

more a case of summer , sun and other persuits at present so like the planets and moon club wanes for a 2 month stretch...

no real issue as means by August everyone raring to go again and keep the winter nights full of interest.....

Following the Solar talk - just looked at sun with very careful precautions - no direct looking at sun, all projected images. And could see group of 3 or 4 spots in cluster. Checked on web and current soho images seem to confirm this group. Any1 know how long this group will stay in place ? wow bria...

i managed but with score of just 22

seems you need initial star in middle (to clear that area) and then range of more outside to concentrate a donut

dont know how you score 20,000 ?
