MI crab nebula

Hi Geoff, I must say, your imaging is progressing well. I like your M1 image a lot! I only have one old M1 image, in monochrome, which I will try to attach to this message. Not too great on detail, but was an early effort. I must get back to doing it in colour..... See you tonight maybe? Bob http://...

Bigbang talk

I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting the other night, especially Brian's talk. I liked the way it stimulated much intense debate, and gave food for thought. We need more of this sort of thing.....
Well done Brian!

first attempt at moon

Good effort Raymondo, I like the terminator detail you have imaged. it would help a lot in understanding what you have achieved if you could post the details of the telescope, camera, and the configuration of the two you used to get these images. Hi Geoff,
I would be happy to help you improve your polar alignment. I used the "drift method" to get mine as close as I could. It takes a bit of time, but will get your wedge angle spot on.
Just have to wait for a bit of clear sky!!
Cheers,
Bob

Mars

Nice image Andy, you certainly must have had good seeing!
Here is my latest try at Mars, from Jan 31st. Not such good seeing, so I have had to work the image processing a bit harder than I like.

December meeting

Sorry I won't be able to make the meeting this evening, I have a couple of cases of swine flu in the house [not me though..], so I judge it better not to put others at risk.
Hope you all have a good meeting.

solar observing at Dunfermline HS

just a reminder, as I said at the Gala, I have a hospital appointment at 10.20 on Monday morning, so it is impossible for me to predict how long I will be. I hope to be able to make it at some point of the day. Good luck with the exercise. I have not yet had a reply from the head teacher at Inverkei...
