We have a joint meeting with Dundee Astronomical Society (DAS) at the Mills Observatory, Dundee, on Friday 17th October at 7.30pm.

Catherine Heymans, from the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, will be giving a talk entitled "The Violent Lives of Galaxies".

David Paterson, Secretary of the DAS, writes
Quote:
Meetings start at 19:30 in the Mills Observatory, and the guest speaker is usually the first item (after a few brief notices).  Talks are usually approximately an hour long, including any question and answer session.  This will be followed by a refreshment break, and then other short presentations by society members.  If you have anything interesting to show, such as astro images, interesting news items, or even a short talk, we'd be very pleased to give you the floor.

David has also asked for a rough guide to numbers, so please post below if you think you'll be able to go, indicating the number of people in your party.

Nearer the time, we can arrange some car pooling.

Kirsty & I are going up by car, and we'll have two spare seats for anyone who wants them. Reply here, to bag them.

Hi George,

Consider it booked.
Would you be able to get to Dalgety Bay railway station for 6pm?
If so, we'll pick you up there.

See you on the 17th,
Paul.

Hi all,
I'm hoping to be able to make it on Friday. I  am working over in Edinburgh until 5.30pm, so I will just make my own way there.
Hope to see you all on Friday
