Hi, my name is Maya, I'm 24 and live in Burntisland. I've been interested in astronomy since I was a small child but I don't have a 'scope right now (can't afford one!). Hopefully I'll be able to get a decent one in the next month or two (wish list = Skywatcher 200 + HEQ5) - I know it's not quite astronomy season yet but it will be soon! It would be cool to come along to meetings if nobody minds. I look forward to meeting and speaking to some of you! I'm a scientist (ecologist / marine biologist) by training and I like to keep up with developments in cosmology and astrophysics. My main astronomy interests are planets and DSOs - an odd mix I know!

Random Edit: I've just seen that there is a rather interesting talk this month (i.e, tomorrow), I'm not actually signed up as an official member yet but can I come along and hand in my membership form on the night? I might not be able to make it but it sounds like a really interesting talk so I'd love to know if I'm allowed along to that!

Thanks,

Maya.

Hi there Maya - welcome aboard.  I'm sure everyone would be happy to see you at the meeting - I'm really envious that you can get to go, because it's a bit of a long commute for me!
Clear skies!
Emma

Hi Maya, welcome to the forum and the Club.  Good to see you might be able to make it to the meeting tonight - I saw part of this exhibition whilst visiting Dynamic Earth and it was really interesting.

Re your membership - it will be fine for you to bring your form and membership fee tonight if your coming along.

The Club has members with a range of expertise and experience ranging from beginners through to the more accomplished observers.  We are all very friendly and always happy to welcome new members so hope you can make it.  Tea/Coffee and biscuits are provided so if you have a particular mug you want to bring along feel free, otherwise we have mugs you can use.

Hope to see you there Very Happy

Cazza.
