Nearly my first occulation!

Hi
I had a lot of confusion last night, went out couldn't see Saturn and then there it was hiding in the glare of the nearly full moon (and that's a first me moaning that the Moon's washing things out!).

Anyway here's a combination of two AVIs that captured the Moon and Saturn very close. Not quite an occulation but the first time I've sen them in the same eyepiece (15mm!).

Details: STF180, X0.5 reducer, toucam, K3, R4, and a fiddle in PS.

All the best

Andy

Hi Andy,

I meant to post a few days ago to congratulate you on your Plato and Copernicus pics, but it's been the week from hell at my work. That's why I've been a bit quiet.

Anyway, last night I was playing with Stellarium, and noticed that Saturn and the moon were going to be very close together (well, apparently close to an Earth observer), but I couldn't summon up the energy to go out and try to capture it.

Your picture is spectacular. If you can make it across to one of our meetings, I'd love to pick your brains about imaging.

Paul.

Should hopefully be there on the 19th.
See you then
Andy
