Mercury

Hi everyone -

Thought you might like to see this picture of the recent apparition (or whatever the word is!) of Venus and Mercury.

Not a brilliant picture, and not that easy to see Mercury, but it’s only hand-held with an ordinary digital camera on auto setting, so I was pleased to get anything at all!

(In case you’re wondering, Mercury is slightly to the left and below the central point of the frame, at about 4 o’clock to Venus!).

Considering the legend that Copernicus never actually saw Mercury, I’m always pleased when I get even a glimpse!

most digital camera have a burst mode (5 pics) and action shots (for fast snaps) which may help for astro work
