Mars hasn't been the easiest to image this time around. But here's one from tonight 16th Feb, not too bad seeing for once!
Andy

Pretty tidy.
One of the polar ice caps is visible - whichever one is in summer just now (don't know which one that is).
Last night looked nice for viewing - shame I was stuck inside clutching a Lemsip and a jar of VapoRub.

Nice image Andy, you certainly must have had good seeing!
Here is my latest try at Mars, from Jan 31st. Not such good seeing, so I have had to work the image processing a bit harder than I like.
Bob

HI Bob

well I would have been proud to put my name neat to that pic  Very Happy

anyway just got a nice set of LRGB filters so I will try to improve on my imaging once Polar alignment is spot on. So far I.m a bit off the pole star so there is a small amount of drift. Fancy helping me get it right?
Cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,
I would be happy to help you improve your polar alignment. I used the "drift method" to get mine as close as I could. It takes a bit of time, but will get your wedge angle spot on.
Just have to wait for a bit of clear sky!!
Cheers,
Bob
